Carcadian Rhythms

Today I stood alone on the side of a mountain.
I looked back and it didn't seem like I had come all that far...
but I also knew I had gone much farther than I ever thought.

I sank down in the fresh powder that surrounded me a̶n̶d̶ ̶g̶a̶s̶p̶e̶d̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶b̶r̶e̶a̶t̶h̶  and took a moment to take in the breath taking scenes that lay before me.

For me it is the little things that I notice most~ those tiny little treasures that touch my heart and keep me humble.

Sometimes it’s the big things

But thankfully, it is usually just little things.

Another breath-taking day spent outside,

As I stood there in the deep snow on that day in 2015,I had no idea that in exactly one year, I would be stopped on a different mountain,  taking a moment (or maybe longer) to appreciate the untouched beauty of sunlight dancing off of pristine snow.                        (aka~ Sparkly snow)

The years will change.
But fortunately, no matter how much time passes
the things that I find value and beauty in,
never will.
and I hope that I will always find myself,
unexplainably drawn
out into the wild places to marvel at the little things
and see just how far I have come.
